Lauren's GeoJournal Week 5
An example I found of a metamorphic rock in construction is marble countertops. Marble is formed from sedimentary rocks, specifically limestone, and then developed into marble. You can tell from the layers visible in marble that the stone is derived from sedimentary rocks. Although no marble can be found in Rexburg, Idaho, it can be found in Marble Mountain, Idaho, which is about 8 hours away. You can tell that marble was never an igneous rock because it's limestone, which is made up of less minerals than the average igneous rock.
