Lauren's GeoJournal Week 2
Lauren's GeoJournal Week 2
I often find this type of quartz in my yard in Texas. The rocks we use to do landscaping, which I believe are sedimentary rocks, frequently contain quartz and can be discovered by breaking the rock open. When I was younger and would find quartz, I thought it was an expensive crystal and super rare. Upon studying crystals and different minerals in science classes, I've since found out that although they aren't rare or expensive, they're still beautiful because it's a product of our Earth. Raw quartz doesn't appear to shine, but are often polished and even sold by different vendors.
